Starting over again can bring up feelings of fear, disappointment, and nervousness. One can start to feel like a failure because they got off track. I’m here to tell you that you are still on the path.
Starting over… .. I like to say that I‘m picking back up where I left off, or that I’m going to get back to doing what I love. I have spent many hours over the last 6 months on the phone chatting with members and friends. Some kept us with their fitness, some let it go and other ramped it up. Now a few months later I’m hearing a lot of the same conversation, “I just don’t want to start all over again”. It’s not easy to get back on track, but if your someone who was taking control of their fitness and health and let it slide when the pandemic hit, there’s a few things you should know.
1. You not alone, stress affects us all in ways we usually can’t control
2. You AREN’T starting over – you are continuing your journey
Good stress is called “eustress”, is what we feel when we get excited, it is without fear or threat.
Bad stress is called “distress”, this is what most have been feeling over the last few months, it’s associated with fear and negative stimulation
Definition of start: the point in time or space at which something has its origin; the beginning
If you have ever exercised, played a sport, eaten a healthy meal, or even gone on a long walk, you have already STARTED. And if you have already started then you cannot start again, you can only stop completely or continue.
If you need some help starting again we can help, we are coaches, not fitness instructors. We understand the struggles that are associated with fitness and we can help you to continue your journey.
Send me an email, I’d love to help you on the rest of your journey!
